As a fulltime lecturer in Business Information Management (BIM) at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), you focus on business analytics, machine learning, and network analytics. There are currently two vacancies open for this position.
In your role as fulltime lecturer, you become part of a strong community of 90 researchers and lecturers, including more than 40 PhD candidates in information systems, supply chain management, and innovation management.
Our department has a strong research and teaching tradition and an international orientation to the academic and business communities. And our specialised MSc in Business Information Management, typically known as BIM, is ranked among the best programmes in the world.
RSM’s BIM department is one of the founding members of the MScBA in Business Analytics and Management. The BIM department is also involved in RSM’s extensive portfolio of post-experience education, such as our executive MBA programmes.

You educate and inspire the next generation of managers as they investigate the opportunities presented by data analytics (machine learning, deep learning, data mining) and new information technologies (platforms, cloud computing, AI, internet-of-things, blockchain).
This is your opportunity to join a dedicated team of scholars who also contribute to education in the field of Information Systems and Data Science.
Your main task is to teach students of the BSc BA and BSc IBA programmes, and MSc Business Information Management and MSc Business Analytics and Management programmes.
Specifically, your work involves:
- Course delivery, including lectures (online, blended, classroom), assignments and examinations
- Course design and redesign, for course content and didactics
- Supervision of BSc and/or MSc theses.

Required qualifications
- You have (or will soon complete) a PhD in information systems, economics, computer science, marketing, econometrics or a closely related field.
- You demonstrate a strong interest and a proven track record in one of the above-mentioned fields.
- You have a strong background in quantitative empirical data analysis methods, such as econometrics, statistics and machine learning.
- You have completed your University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or an equivalent, or you are willing to acquire your BKO in the short term.
Your required competences
- You demonstrate a potential for excellence in teaching.
- You are familiar with online education platforms (e.g., Canvas, Zoom) and techniques for inspiring successful blended learning.
- You can provide critical yet constructive feedback.
- You can teach in English. You have an advantage when you can teach in Dutch.
- You are a team player and are open to collaboration with various faculty members across the different courses.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied position in an enthusiastic team, with excellent employment conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
Your work location is [class.26087] at the faculty Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) on Campus Woudestein in Rotterdam. The position is 0.8 FTE – 1 FTE.
You can start on 1 September 2026. The salary depends on your knowledge and experience. For a full-time appointment (38 hours), the salary amounts to between €4,728 and €6,433 gross per month (Scale 11), in accordance with the CAO-NU.
The contract will be entered into for a period of 1 year and, when you prove to be suitable and when you continue in the same position, under unchanged (financial and/or organisational) circumstances, it may be converted into a permanent contract.
