Introduction

The Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship department is seeking a motivated Research Assistant for a research project on climate change adaptation in Africa. In this qualitative project we aim to understand which different pathways agricultural entrepreneurs can take in adapting to the implications of climate change. This role is ideal for a French-speaking Master’s student with an interest in climate change, international development, or entrepreneurship.

Job description

As a Reaching Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include conducting online interviews in French with an established interview guide, translating research materials, and supporting qualitative data preparation.

This position runs from October to approximately the end of November (2025), with a total estimated workload of around 50 hours. The tasks include:

- Reviewing an informed consent form (in French);

- Reviewing an interview guide (in French);

- Participating in an interview training;

- Conducting ~20 interviews in French (1 hour each);

- Translating and reviewing interview transcripts into English.

Job requirements

We are looking for Master’s student who:

- Speaks and writes French and English fluently;

- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills;

- Is comfortable conducting interviews and working independently;

- Has a reliable work attitude;

- Has an interest in climate change, international development, or entrepreneurship.

Experience with qualitative research or transcription is a plus. Students from the CEMS / International Management Master are especially encouraged to apply.

Employment conditions and benefits

We compensate you according to the Student Assistant salary scale, the gross hourly rate of which is approximately €18.21 for master students.

Second, you will have the opportunity to use the collected interview data for your Master’s thesis, giving you access to unique and original data that can enrich your thesis trajectory
