This year’s edition of the Speed Interview event at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), saw 11 companies and 80 students participate over the course of two days in a total of 91 interviews. Organised each year by the RSM Career Centre, this event gathered organisations from the areas of, for example, consultancy, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), construction, logistics, and software as a service (SaaS). With opportunities that ranged from supply chain to finance, sales to audit, and operations to general management.

“The RSM Career Center speed interviews are must-attend events, that are more important than ever in today's job market, where referrals increasingly replace the traditional CV screening. When approached right, the speed interviews can serve as an informal first interview round and guarantee a warm connection with your dream companies.” – Linus Brüll, student, MSc Business Information Management (2026)

A diverse range of organisations
This year’s edition of the Speed Interview event once again saw a wide variety of participating organisations. participating companies included, among others: MainfreightKPMGFerreroJD.comAltman SolonBright AnalyticsHiltiAlphaSights, and Celonis

“We were impressed with the diversity of the students and how well prepared they were.” – Maddie Rolston, Training & Development Specialist, Mainfreight Europe

Perhaps because of the current geopolitical climate, some organisations are recruiting fewer people. However, RSM still generally receives many requests for trainees and candidates who have recently graduated.

Trends in interviewing
It is true that AI is now widely used in recruiting agencies, but it is not used for every step in the interviewing process. RSM spoke with the recruiters present during the Speed Interview event, and the recruiters revealed that they primarily use AI to check CVs for prioritisation and sorting. This saves time. Still, most of the hiring process continues to be carried out by individual colleagues.

Lars Arensman, student in the MSc Finance & Investment (2026) programme was happy with the event. “A well-organised, approachable way to get acquainted with the next chapter!” he commented.

Opportunities in Dutch and English

Throughout each year, the RSM Career Centre offers many events for students. During these events, organisations that are present have trainee and job opportunities on offer for both the English-speaking international students as well as for the Dutch-speaking students.

Organisations interested to engage with RSM students for internships, jobs or projects may contact Employer Relations Manager, Martine Vissers, RSM Career Centre & Coaching Services.
