Junior and senior business professionals interested in professional development to boost their companies and careers can now download the new RSM Executive Education 2017 catalogue featuring open programmes at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). In addition to long and short open programmes, business leaders can also opt for customised programmes tailored to improve their team’s performance.

RSM’s open programmes offer a dynamic learning environment for professionals looking for new skills and knowledge. The business school specialises in leadership, personal effectiveness, strategy, finance, accounting, innovation, operations, marketing and sales. Most programmes are in English, and can be followed on RSM’s campus in Rotterdam or delivered in-company.

Boosting leadership skills

The Women in Business portfolio will offer two new programmes, which are offered in partnership with the Erasmus Centre for Women in Organisations (ECWO). The one-day Courageous Conversations and one-day The Strength of Networking programmes are designed for women who want to improve their leadership skills and enhance their careers.

Another new addition is the three-day CMA Exam Preparation Course, which prepares professionals for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) exams. Participants will receive useful tools to boost and direct their home studies when getting ready for this valuable internationally recognised professional qualification in accounting and financial management.

New knowledge in short programmes

Professionals can also learn new perspectives and knowledge in RSM’s collegereeksen bedrijfskunde which they can put into practice immediately. This series of lectures, in Dutch, allows open access to parts of the programme followed by Parttime Master Bedrijfskunde participants. Topics in this series include leadership, management and governance, change management, financial management and strategic marketing.

Returning popular programmes include the Essentials of Leadership, Finance for Non-Financial Managers, The Power of Storytelling, and The Power of Presence.

Customised programmes

RSM can also design programmes to tackle organisations’ challenges. RSM’s customised programmes are:

  • built to take a company’s business goals, culture, operating environment, people, and learning objectives into account
  • designed in close collaboration with companies to equip participants with the necessary competencies
  • delivered at RSM in Rotterdam or any location of your choosing worldwide.

Companies such as ING, Deutsche Bahn and TBI have had inspiring and empowering experiences with their customised programmes at RSM. Deutsche Bahn followed a customised programmes about keeping innovation on track. “RSM’s programme provided me with the skills to analyse an issue, and test new ideas in a structured way,” says Wolfgang Merz, Deutsche Bahn’s head of international business in Western Europe. “I have applied this in practice, and re-engineered a process which has improved the way we work and serve our passengers.”
