Recently Dutch newspaper, Het Financieele Dagblad (FD) reported that AI-powered career and networking platform Magnet.me named the Strategic Entrepreneurship master programme at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) number one in their ranking of Top 50 studies among employers 2026. This demonstrates that studies that combine technology and business administration are gaining popularity. Magnet.me based their ranking on how often employers approach students and starters with specific study backgrounds – like the RSM MSc Strategic Entrepreneurship – on the platform. RSM’s Strategic Entrepreneurship was also number one on the Magnet.me list in 2024.

FD states that, according to CEO of Magnet.me, Laurens van Nues, “the focus of employers on training in which strategy, entrepreneurship and change are central shows what companies and organisations now find important. 'These are people who not only bring knowledge with them, but can also think about how to actually use new opportunities within an organisation.'”

Magnet.me stated that their investigation demonstrates that data and analysis training has become less popular among companies and organisations. A number of master studies in this direction are still in the top fifty, but are included in less prominent rankings than in previous years.

Major technological developments, the arrival of chatbots, for example, are likely to have an effect on the labour market. Certain professions may disappear or become different in nature. For students, the question is: what skills they should have in the future?

What stands out in the market is that there are no major shifts visible in studies that focus solely on artificial intelligence. There is still only one explicit AI programme in the top fifty. Van Nues: “AI is becoming less and less something that only technical specialists work with and more and more part of all kinds of functions within an organisation. That makes the combination interesting.”
