Diploma name
General requirements
- Applicants are required to show proof of at least four Advanced Placement (AP) exams in general academic subjects* before the start of their studies.
- Only AP exams administered by the College Board are accepted.
- At the time of applying applicants must have successfully passed at least one AP exam with a minimum score of 3.
- Out of the four AP exams, at least two must have a score of 4 or higher. The remaining two may have a score of 3.
- For AP Calculus AB or BC, a minimum score of 4 is required
- *Accepted subjects: Art History, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Comparative Government and Politics, European History, Human Geography, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Psychology, United States Government and Politics, United States History, World History: Modern, Calculus AB or BC, Computer Science: A, Computer Science Principles, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Pre-Calculus, Physics, and World Languages and Cultures
- Not accepted: AP Capstone, AP Research, AP Seminar, AP Art and Design Program
Important note:
- A maximum of one AP language is accepted
- Overlapping subjects count as one AP exam, for example:
- AP Pre-Calculus + AP Calculus AB/BC
- AP US History + AP European History + AP World History
- AP Microeconomics + AP Macroeconomics
- AP Computer Science A + AP Computer Science Principles
- English Language and Composition + English Literature and Composition
Mathematics requirement
- Applicants must have taken the AP Calculus AB or BC exam with a minimum score of 4. Applicants who have not met this requirement at the time of application, or who have taken only AP Pre-Calculus, must take a mathematics exam.
- SAT and ACT are not accepted
English requirement
- You must have completed your secondary education entirely in English, or demonstrate that at least the last two years were taught fully in English. This applies only to students from native English-speaking countries (USA, UK, Canada excluding Quebec, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa).
- If you have completed your education in a non-English speaking country, you must have obtained a minimum grade of B+ for AP English during the penultimate year.
- If you do not meet any of the above requirements, you must take an English language test.
Selection points
For applicants in the final year of high school:
- The grades of your penultimate year (the year before your final year) including your AP College Board result(s) will be used to calculate your GPA.
For graduated applicants:
- The results of your final year and the AP College Board results will be used to calculate your GPA.
Additional requirements
- At the time of application, you must have completed at least one College Board AP exam with a minimum score of 3.
- You must list all College Board AP exams you have taken and any you plan to take on the RSM diploma statement. Provide a print-out of your AP score report, signed and stamped by your school representative. You must also give RSM permission to verify your scores; the College Board institute code for Rotterdam School of Management is 6767.
- If you follow more than one education system and obtain more than one diploma, your application will be evaluated based on the diploma with the highest academic level. Re-evaluating the American High School Diploma as another diploma type is not accepted.
- The RSM diploma statement must be filled in by your school counsellor or representative and included in your application. If you have already graduated at the time of application, this statement is not required.
- In the application, you must submit official grade lists signed by your mentor or school representative. Screenshots or self-made Word/Excel documents with your grades will not be accepted. Ensure that RSM can clearly understand how the grades were determined if your school uses a different grading system or calculations.
