Selection steps

1. Interview

After the 31 October application deadline, all applicants will gain access to InterviewStream, where the one-way online interview is conducted.

The interview is available for 7 days, opening on the 2nd of November and closing at midnight (23:59 CET) on the 8th of November.

The link to InterviewStream will be communicated in the Online Application Form (OLAF), both in the application steps and in the confirmation message when application has been submitted).

The interview is done fully online, using the InterviewStream platform. In the platform you will be presented with written questions and you will record your answers using a webcam / mobile device.

You do however need to complete the interview in one sitting, and you have limited time to prepare and answer each question. This allows you to complete the interview  at your convenience from anywhere in the world.

RSM protects your personal data during the interview in line our policies.

In the online interview you will be asked about your motivation to participate in the programme as well as your financial knowledge.

During the interview, you should formulate your answers using the "STAR" interview method.

When recording the interviews, speak in a measured and articulated way. The right tempo, articulation, and volume are key to assessors understanding your words, especially when we are listening from a video clip. Avoid reading answers from a paper or a screen. While making notes is fine, an actual script never has a place during an interview. It reads as inauthentic and indicates a lack of spontaneity.

While there's no official dresscode for the interview, a neat and professional appearance is appreciated.

Each interview is evaluated by at least 2 trained members of the MSc FI selection team, consisting of RSM support - and academic staff. The scoring is executed following a tailor-made scoring rubric.

InterviewStream provides an automatic transcription, which can be used as a supporting tool while watching the video. Scoring is always done by a solely human assessment based on the recorded video and audio.

2. Ranking & results

During the first ranking, eligible applicants will be ranked based on either their GPA or their GMAT/GRE score.

Based on this ranking, it will determined which applicants will progress to the final stage of the selection process, in which the recorded online interview will be assessed. Depending on the number and quality of applications, approximately 500 applicants will continue to this round.

Applicants will receive a further update once this ranking has been completed. At that point, applicants will be informed whether their interview will be included in the final selection process.

Applicants whos interview will not be assessed due a lower ranking, will be offered admissions to other MSc programmes offered by RSM, provided that they meet the content related requirements. It's only possible to receive an offer of admission to programmes which still have spots available. Some programmes may have reached maximum capacity by the time the results are available.

Once the online interviews have been assessed, the RSM Admissions Office will make a final ranking of the applicants. The final ranking is based on the total score obtained from the interview.

The top 375* students will be selected for the programme and receive a (conditional) offer of admission. The remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

*This number is subject to change until the 1st of October.

Applicants who are not selected for the MSc FI programme, will be placed on a waiting list and offered admissions to other MSc programmes offered by RSM, provided that they meet the content related requirements. It's only possible to receive an offer of admission to programmes which still have spots available. Some programmes may have reached maximum capacity by the time the results are available.

The results of the 1st ranking are made available by mid December.

The results of the final ranking are made available by mid April.

Some general feedback may be offered to the group of applicants who are not selected to the master. RSM will also try to give an indication of how your GPA/GMAT scores and interview scores compared to the rest of the group (above average, average, below average).

3. Offers & denials

Applicants who are offered admission to the MScFI programme must respond to the offer within 14 days via the Online Application Form (OLAF).

If the offer has not been accepted within 14 days, the spot will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

Students who are denied admission, will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot in the programme becomes available and you are next on the waiting list, you will be offered this spot

The waiting list will be kept active until the 15th of August.
