PhD researcher Gizem Yalcin won the American Marketing Association’s Emerging Scholar Award 2021 for her research in the field of marketing at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

The American Marketing Association’s Doctoral Student Special Interest Group (DocSIG) annually honours a doctoral student who has displayed exemplary holistic scholarship and exhibits a bright future in this academic discipline.

The judges of the AMA’s Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award 2021 told Yalcin they were impressed by her research work and pipeline, dedication to service, and overall potential to contribute to the field in the years ahead. The three faculty judges reviewed applications from top emerging PhD students from AACSB schools to select a winner who has the comprehensive influence and abilities to become a great scholar in marketing.

Yalcin will receive a plaque, an award of US$250, and free registration to the 2021 AMA Summer Educators’ Conference.
