Formal requests have to be submitted via the Online Request Form.

Requests should be motivated and accompanied by all relevant documentation (such as a recent version of your Osiris study progress overview ("dossieroverzicht"). In the event that you are asked to hand in a (certified copy of a) certificate, transcript or diploma, you still have to send/show this document in its original form to the Examination Board for verification. These kind of documents will not be accepted in a digital form. See Contact Information for more details.

You may expect a decision of the Examination Board within 4 weeks. For more complicated requests, where multiple people are involved in the decision making process, or in the busy month of August, it might take longer than four weeks to come to a decision. We ask for your understanding. It is important to submit your request in time.

It is possible to follow a minor from another faculty or university and let it count towards the 20 ECTS bachelor profiling space in trimester 7. If you wish to do a minor offered at another faculty/university, you need the approval of the Examination Board. Please include course description, number of ects, in which bachelor year the minor is offered, how long the minor lasts, and in which language the minor is offered. You should take into account that every university has its own minor system and its own requirements. It is your own responsibility to look into this. Any questions, you may have regarding this topic, please contact the Programme Manager bachelor 2 & 3 or the student advisers.

For further information about minors at the EUR, we also refer you to www.eur.nl/english/minor

Unless otherwise mentioned, the term of validity for passed bachelor courses and granted exemptions is in principle unlimited. However, as long as the final exam has not been passed yet, the Examination Board may declare the term of validity of a course, passed more than six years ago, expired if the knowledge, insights or skills taught during the course have become obsolete. In that case, the Examination Board can impose an additional or alternative course or examination, before the final exam may be passed.

If the examination of a course is composed of more than one test, the term of validity of each test is limited to the academic year in which the tests are taken, unless the examiner determines otherwise in the course manual.

A student may pass the final exam with a 4.5 or higher for one examination part of the course year B1, provided that all components of course year B1 were passed, with the exception of the component with the 4.5 or higher, and this insufficient grade is compensated for by at least one rounded 7 or higher for another component of B1.

In addition, a student may also pass the final exam with a 4.5 or higher for one examination part of the course year B2 or B3, except for trimester 7 courses with a value more than 7,5 ects, the Research Training/Bachelor Thesis and the courses that are part of the Sandwich Year (if applicable), provided that the calculated grade point average is at least 7.0.

Procedure: The B1 compensation rule will automatically be processed in Osiris. The B2/3 compensation rule will only be applied by the Examination Board upon student’s request: submit your request via the Online Request Form. Your GPA will be calculated by the Department for Exam Administration, whereafter the Examination Board will send you the final decision. Please note, compensation requests for B2/3 will only be processed when all grades of B2/3 (including retakes) have been registered in Osiris.
