For a short stay in the Netherlands, you may need a Schengen visa or a transit visa. For more information about visa and passport requirements, visit the website of the Dutch Government
It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the entry requirements for travel to the Netherlands. If you require a visa invitation letter, please contact the programme manager as soon as possible after you have made full payment for your programme, and at least 10 days before you need to have the letter.
Due to the recent increase in visa fraud, RSM will issue a visa invitation letter only after you have been accepted onto the programme, and after you have paid in full.
RSM Executive Education does not require you to have passed a TOEFL test. Participants are required to be fluent in understanding, speaking, and reading English but no specific exam or qualification is required.
Our programmes are attended by a combination of nationalities; Dutch as well as other nationalities based in the Netherlands, and some who fly in especially to attend the programme. With a small number of exceptions, our programmes are taught in English.
Our executive education programmes are, in principle, all subject to 21% VAT* but exemption from VAT is possible in some cases.
You are eligible for VAT-free invoicing if you:
In these instances, it is not possible to reclaim VAT, so we recommend to use a VAT-free option. To cover our administrative and purchasing costs (which are not VAT-exempted), a non-refundable surcharge of 10% is added to the VAT-free price.
Next steps
If you are eligible for exemption from VAT and would like to make use of it, please mention "VAT-free invoicing" in the questions section when registering for your programme.
* All prices exclude VAT (‘BTW’ in the Netherlands). The percentage of VAT is subject to change according to Dutch law.
As a participant of an open programme you have the right to defer (postpone) your participation. To defer your place on the programme until a later date, you must send notice by email to the Programme Manager or to openprogrammes@rsm.nl.
If you tell us that you want to defer your studies within four weeks before the start of the programme, then we have already incurred expenses and costs associated with your registration. In these cases, we will charge you 25 per cent of the Registration Fee. Your paid cancellation fee will be considered an advance payment and deducted from the full Registration Fee of the newly attended programme.
There’s more information about our deferral policy in the general terms and conditions.
Go to www.rsm.nl/education/executive-education/short-courses/ to apply for a programme. Use the filter buttons to select which programme you would like to join, and fill out the application form. It will take you approximately 5 minutes to complete the application.
After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirming that your application has been received.
Our programme manager will contact you with more details. For some programmes, we will conduct a short intake interview before you are accepted to confirm that it’s the right programme for you.
We advise you to register at least 4 weeks before the start of the programme so you have enough time to do any preparation work.
With a small number of exceptions, our programmes are taught in English.
It is possible to pay your tuition fee with Mastercard or Visa. However, you pay a surcharge of 2.2% of the tuition fee.
You will receive a certificate of completion when you attended the whole programme and have handed in all of the required assignments (if applicable). If you miss part of a one-day programme you will not receive a certificate of completion. If you miss part of a longer programme( two days or more), depending on the programme and the amount of time you have missed, your situation and your eligibility for a certificate will be reviewed by the programme manager, and the learning and development manager.
In general we use the following rules:
If a participant misses an entire day or more, no certificate of completion will be issued.
RSM is accredited by all of the top international accreditation bodies: EFDM, AMBA, and AACSB, and the NVAO for our degree programmes. This authorises us to issue diplomas. RSM is a top-ranked institution with world-class academics in research and education in business; this means our diplomas derive value from our reputation. A diploma is issued upon proof that the participant has complied with the criteria for the diploma (this usually means successfully completing one or more graded assignments). A certificate for completion is issued for attendance and proves you successfully completed a programme at RSM.
We are continuously carefully monitoring the situation around the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Erasmus University Rotterdam has published guidance and advice to staff and students, consistent with the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the information from comparable institutes abroad. This information is available in both Dutch and English.
