RSM students, along with students from the 1,300+ master’s programmes in the Netherlands , were asked what they thought about the content of the courses they are studying; the quality of their lecturers, how they are assessed, how much help they get as they prepare to launch their careers and how they feel about their university. Current students of the MSc IM/CEMS at RSM were very positive about their programme.
RSM’s Dean of Education Dr Mirko Benischke said: “This is particularly meaningful because it reflects the views of people experiencing the programme first hand.
“Student feedback gives us the clearest insight that we are delivering the right kind of education. Seeing that reflected in the survey results is very encouraging. Our students’ ‘excellent’ rating is particularly important because of the changing landscape of higher education right now. There are more master’s programmes in the country than ever before, and students are also more critical and selective about the quality of education they receive.”
Career pathway
The MSc International Management/CEMS is distinctive for the way it presents a clear career pathway for students, with continuous and direct engagement with the corporate world throughout the programme. Students interact with a global network of 71 CEMS corporate partners including companies such as Coca-Cola, McKinsey & Company, Lufthansa, Henkel and Accenture. These partners contribute to the programme through skills seminars, real-life business cases integrated into the curriculum, and dedicated careers events in which they connect with students for internships and job opportunities.
“These activities result in strong outcomes for graduates entering the labour market. Around 95 per cent of MSc IM/CEMS graduates are employed shortly after graduation, with 76 per cent going to work for multinational companies,” says Martine Vissers, RSM’s Employer Relations Manager and CEMS Corporate Relations Manager.
Engaged with the programme
The programme’s academic director Associate Professor Dr Giuseppe Criaco says the results also reflect the close relationship between students and faculty members. “The survey responses also highlight something less tangible but equally important: the sense of involvement students feel in the programme. They recognise the quality of the programme, and the results tell us about the enormous sense of engagement they feel. Our students are highly motivated and internationally minded, and that creates a dynamic learning environment where ideas, perspectives and experiences are constantly exchanged. That creates an environment where discussions are lively, ideas are challenged and learning becomes a genuinely collaborative process.”
Preparing graduates
The survey results highlight particularly strong scores for teaching quality, programme atmosphere and career preparation in the RSM programme, reinforcing its reputation as a good choice for students seeking an international career in business and management.
With students coming from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, the programme continues to prepare graduates to navigate complex global markets and multicultural organisations.
MSc IM/CEMS: a dual degree programme
The MSc IM/CEMS is a dual qualification, an MSc in International Management from RSM plus the CEMS Master in Management Certificate from the CEMS Alliance of international business schools. The programme demands exceptional commitment and energy from students and staff alike, and only 65 students are enrolled each year. The MSC IM/CEMS at RSM is the result of 20 years of development, and an emphasis on international exposure and collaboration and the programme has a mandatory exchange semester at one of the CEMS partner school. Applications open from October to January for selection and admission the following September.
