Why did you choose this MSc?
“This new master programme appealed to me for its small class scale, advanced curriculum design, and soft skill training. The combination could create a good ambiance for professional study, dedicated co-operation and friendly competition among talented finance students. More importantly, the partnership with big companies such as Rabobank and Unilever provided me with practical insights into not only the companies, but also the overall financial industry.”

How would you describe the programme and RSM?
“RSM put significant effort in developing and promoting this exclusive advanced programme, making me feel confident about its promising success and reputation. Thanks to the strong and general support of RSM, the first cohort has proved the high competitiveness of this flagship master by action, and the next cohort is on its way to follow a broader career path and to build a larger FIA network.”

What was the biggest challenge in this master?
“To balance study, career and relaxation. As many investment banks require early application, we had a very busy time to study for exams, complete multiple assignments, and apply for internships and jobs at the same time. It was hard, but we managed to go through the hard time together by encouraging each other and having fun together. We needed to learn how to both mentally and physically relax ourselves under large pressure, so that things could work efficiently.”

What made the greatest impression?
“The competitiveness, intelligence and talent of my classmates. Everyone was unique, and contributed from all different perspectives to complete good projects. The students were not only good at studying, but also skilled in their presentation, communication and collaboration. They were very confident, yet modest. Most importantly, they clearly knew what they wanted to do, and worked hard persistently to achieve their goals.”

How did your studies at RSM shape your career?
“RSM provided me with plenty job-related information and career training. It acted as a platform for me to represent myself to the companies I was interested in. In all the recruiting events and interviews I participated, having RSM on my CV was always a bonus point that made me proud. I also found employers satisfied with RSM recruits. Also, I received so much help and information for my career from RSM alumni on the RSM MentorMe platform. Without their generous help, it would cost me much more to get where I am now.”

What are your future plans?
“I’m looking for an international career path, and will make changes to better our planet in a business way with efficiency. I aim to work as a strategic or financial consultant in various countries in the next decade, and start my own business—most likely in garbage separation, recycling and green energy."
