Why did you choose this MSc?
“I wanted to attend an internationally recognised master programme, which properly prepared me to enter the business world. I chose marketing because I’m passionate about human behaviour and reasoning, especially in an economic context. I like understanding incentives and decision processes and develop creative solutions to guide and help people choosing what they need and desire. Marketing’s mix of rationality and emotion lured me to deepen the discovery of this subject.”
How would you describe the programme and RSM?
“It is simply an amazing and a must-do experience! The master was both an intellectually challenging and fun experience. RSM has a great campus, offering top-level lessons to students, sport facilities, and cosy meeting places. It is the perfect place to learn from capable professors and meet smart and open-minded friends who will remain part of your life forever.”
What was the biggest challenge in this master?
“The biggest challenge was definitively my final thesis. This is probably the case for most students, and for me absolutely, it is the first real big project of a lifetime. It requires gathering the knowledge acquired in an year of study and to use it in a practical business context. It was tough and long, but really helped me in closing my mental gap between the academic studies and the business world.”
What made the greatest impression?
“The internationality of the students and the professors. Being in contact with people from different cultures and backgrounds boosts learning and in that context gave me and motivation to enhance myself as a more open-minded and knowledgeable person. I was also positively surprised by the series of business meetings, workshops and conferences which have been organised for us.”
How did your studies at RSM shape your career?
“They were a ground-breaker! RSM is highly ranked in Europe and hence known and respected by international companies. The studies taught me practical skills, especially in analytic contexts, which are useful in my daily job. On a broader level, the MSc taught me how to collaborate and discuss ideas and plans of action in an international environment.”
What are your future plans?
“I want to become a top-level data scientist, improving and using my analytical thinking in business context to drive decisions at management level. Maybe in the near future I will also try to start up my own company, to give myself the challenge of create something meaningful from scratch.”
