Why did you choose this MSc?
“The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of financial management-related knowledge and skills. The curriculum provides you with both a perspective on how to manage the internal organisation, as well as how to manage external opportunities and threats. For me the CMA track was a great addition to the curriculum as it enables you to prepare for CMA exams during your master.”
How would you describe the programme and RSM?
“The programme and RSM are practically oriented, through case studies and guest lectures from executives spanning different businesses and industries. I also thought the RSM staff to be approachable through the limited size working classes and due to the fact that you can always pass by their office for questions.”
What was the biggest challenge in this master?
“The biggest challenge was studying for the CMA exams alongside the master programme. The master's CMA track will provide you with a basis for the CMA exams, but to be fully prepared self-study is also required.”
What made the greatest impression?
“The overall drive of the Erasmus students and faculty members. There was not only a great drive to create a great learning environment, but also a great drive to have nice social events such as parties and trips.
How did your studies at RSM shape your career?
“RSM helped shape my career by showing what finance would look like in real life, for example through case studies and guest lectures. RSM together with STAR's Master Study Club helped a great deal through offering company visits, company case studies and other social networking events. RSM's career services have also helped me shape my career through internships.”
What are your future plans?
“My future plans are not fully set yet, but for now I’m still learning a lot from my current role supporting the Philips Lighting group controller and CFO. In the long term I will be developing my business and financial skill set even further through additional formal education and various finance roles.”
