RSM master’s programmes again at top of QS global rankings

A strong reputation with employers, diverse classrooms, and impactful research have helped Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) achieve top placings in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Business Master’s rankings. This year’s rankings provide a comprehensive list of the best business schools in which to study a specialised master’s programme. All participating RSM master’s programmes were placed in the global top 30, and the new rankings show a rising trend for RSM’s degree portfolio.

RSM’s MScBA Master in Management entered the QS global top 20 at number 17.
The MSc in Supply Chain Management maintained its spot among the world's best at number 6
MSc in Business Analytics and Management at number 21
MSc in Finance and Investments at number 27
MSc Marketing Management was ranked 20th worldwide earlier this year.

What it says about RSM graduates

“What matters most to us isn't the rank itself, but what it reflects about the learning experience we create for our students,” says Professor Mirko Benischke, Dean of Education at RSM. “We want students to be challenged, to question assumptions, debate different perspectives and test ideas against real business problems. Creating that kind of learning environment is a collective effort by our students, faculty, and professional services staff.”

The QS rankings are based on several key indicators, including employability, academic reputation, value for money, and thought leadership, and is based in part on surveys of employers, academics, and schools.

Strong connections with employers

Recruiters hold RSM’s graduates from all of its master’s programmes in high regard; the highest score was 93 out of 100 for graduates from the MSc in Supply Chain Management.

This indicator of confidence from employers is due in part to RSM's location in Rotterdam. As Europe’s largest logistics and trading hub, the city gives students a close access to international and logistics companies so they can take part in hands-on projects, and engage in real-world business challenges, throughout their studies.

Research quality and classroom diversity

RSM stood out in the QS evaluation for its international environment and academic standards. Across the board, RSM programmes earned perfect or near-perfect scores for classroom diversity and faculty qualifications. RSM’s research impact and reputation were also recognised with consistently high scores in all the ranked programmes.

All programmes were recognised for their high employability and thought leadership, which considers the academic reputation of the programme and its faculty.
