If you would like to apply for admission to one of the Pre-master or Master (MSc) programmes at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University please first visit the admission pages of our website.
The introductory programmes are different for each MSc programme and can have different start and end dates. Most programmes hold their introductions during the last week of August. Programme Management will inform you about the important dates by email and on the RSM Welcome pages.
The major goal of the Student Representation (SR) is to look after the interests of the student body through representation on faculty and university level. They are an intermediary between students and the faculty personnel. The SR ensures an exchange of information and feedback between those bodies. This comes to expression in the evaluation, improvement proposals and guarding of the education’s quality at RSM Erasmus University, for both, the BA an IBA program.
The organization consists of different divisions: IBA/BA Representation, Program Advisory (Examination & Tutoring, General Studies, 7th Trimester), Marketing Committee and Internal Affairs Committee (Events, SR trip and Professor Awards). However, only three departments of the organizations are closely connected to the courses and their coordinators and thus, relevant to you.
Student Representation:
This is the core business of Student Representation. There is a team of two/three Student Representatives for each course in the IBA and BA programmes. They serve as a constant feedback channel between the students and the course coordinators/professors. Throughout the whole duration of the course the representatives will conduct surveys in order to collect students’ opinions/comments/ideas for improvement about different aspects of the course, i.e. lectures, blackboard, literature, workshops, assignments, exams, etc. From the beginning of the trimester, the Student Reps for your respective course will contact you in order to introduce themselves and request to make a short introduction presentation in front of the class in your first lecture, so the students know who to turn to if they have any feedback about the course; and for you to upload several documents on your blackboard channel. Constant communication between the Reps and the professors is encouraged. So, you can also turn to the Reps of your course if you want to have a specific topic included in the surveys, such as “Webcasts”, for example. There will be two meetings between the professors/coordinators of the course and the Student Representatives – in the middle of the academic curriculum of the course and at the end, where you can discuss all the feedback collected. After those meetings, reports about the course will be written including all topics discussed (best practices and fields of improvement) and the students’ and professors’ opinions on them. They will be sent to Programme Management and once approved uploaded on the SR Blackboard channel, which all students have access to. Thus, the organization works towards improving the various courses and the education in RSM as a whole.
Professor Awards Committee:
Every year in May, Student Representation organizes the so called RSM Professor Awards. The purpose of this is to express the students’ appreciation of the work of all course coordinators, lecturers and academic supporting staff. Every trimester IBA/BA and Premaster students vote for their favorite professor and academic staff. The ones that received the most votes for IBA/BA 1, IBA/BA 2, IBA/BA 3 and Premaster will be awarded with “Best Professor of the Year” or “Best Supporting Staff of the Year” award. Student Representation organizes this big event in order to thank you for all your work on behalf of all RSM students, who are also invited to attend.
Marketing Committee:
This committee organizes the so called “Lunch With Your Professor” which takes place every trimester. During this 1-2 hour event you can meet your students in an informal environment over a meal and talk to them on different academic/ non-academic topic. With this Student Representation wants to create a strong link between the faculty members and the student body. In addition, the marketing committee may contact you with requests for different promotions, such as posing for the Professor Awards posters, for example.

Formal requests have to be submitted via the Online Request Form.
Requests should be motivated and accompanied by all relevant documentation (such as a recent version of your Osiris study progress overview ("dossieroverzicht"). In the event that you are asked to hand in a (certified copy of a) certificate, transcript or diploma, you still have to send/show this document in its original form to the Examination Board for verification. These kind of documents will not be accepted in a digital form. See Contact Information for more details.
The official course schedules and booklists will only be available at the start of the new academic year. Programme Management will inform you about this during the Kick-Off events. You can also view the schedules on the RSM Welcome pages.
The postponement is granted until 24 March for students who go on exchange in autumn. For Master in Management students this date is 31 July as their exchange period takes place in spring.
You may expect a decision of the Examination Board within 4 weeks. For more complicated requests, where multiple people are involved in the decision making process, or in the busy month of August, it might take longer than four weeks to come to a decision. We ask for your understanding. It is important to submit your request in time.
At the request of the student, the Examination Board may, under certain conditions, grant an exemption from a bachelor's degree course based on previous education. Exemptions have to be requested as soon as possible after the start of your studies at RSM, but before 15 October of your first year. Within the master and premaster programmes no exemptions will be granted. See the section Requests for more information.
It is not possible to take exams that are scheduled to take place at RSM, Erasmus University at a different location.
In case you have a temporary or structural functional limitation (e.g. broken limb, dyslexia, chronic illness), you may be allowed to make use of extra facilities within reasonable limits for the duration of this functional impairment. See Requests for more information.
In case you are ill or are prevented from taking the exam as a result of personal circumstances, you are advised to consult the student adviser.
Note: also if you are prevented from studying properly as a result of personal circumstances, you can contact the student adviser. You can schedule an appointment with the IBA-student advisers via the student adviser's website or send an e-mail to studentadviser@rsm.nl.
RSM Career Centre provides a broad range of services to students, most of them internship and future career related. The Career Centre staff functions as a liaison between students, the corporate world and the various departments of the business school to help determine and facilitate internships and research opportunities. Career Centre can help students clarify their interests and skills, refine interviewing and curriculum vitae preparation skills, pursue internships and research projects and interact with potential employers. Students are encouraged to make use of some or all services, especially in the year preceding their BSc or MSc graduation.
You can also find information regarding career opportunities in the Netherlands on the website of the Nuffic.
Students need to be registered as a student at Erasmus University and therefore need to re-enroll themselves through Studielink (www.studielink.nl) only in the 3rd week of June. Students will be informed on all re-enrollment procedures through SIN-online and Studielink itself.

It is possible to follow a minor from another faculty or university and let it count towards the 'Elective space' for the bachelor programme. If you wish to do a minor offered at another faculty/university, you need the approval of the Examination Board. Please include course description, number of ects, in which bachelor year the minor is offered, how long the minor lasts, and in which language the minor is offered. You should take into account that every university has its own minor system and its own requirements. It is your own responsibility to look into this. Any questions, you may have regarding this topic, please contact the Programme Manager bachelor 2 & 3 or the student advisers.
For further information about minors at the EUR, we also refer you to www.eur.nl/english/minor.
In certain cases the Examination Board can grant an extra opportunity on student's request. See Requests for more information.
Our faculty members bring a wealth of academic and practical experience from diverse multinational backgrounds. Meet some of the faculty here.

Visit www.rsm.nl for more information.
