The RSM International Office always recommends you to do courses abroad for more than 20 ECTS.
Should you fail a course and therefore not reach the minimum of 20 ECTS you can always ask for a resit at the host university or, in exceptional cases, make an arrangement with your Master programme department to do an additional assignment/take home exam for the missing ECTS.
As RSM (the business school of Erasmus University Rotterdam) is included in the LPDP preferred university list, funding is available for qualifying MSc students from Indonesia who obtained an unconditional offer from RSM. More information about the specific requirements and application process can be found at: www.lpdp.kemenkeu.go.id (in Bahasa Indonesia).
As soon as the RSM International Office has received your (revised, if applicable) conversion (signed by Academic Director), your academic study report as well as the grades of the host university, the conversion package is complete. You will be notified when your conversion package has been completed and sent to the Student Administration department for registration in Osiris.
At that moment, send a request to the Examination Board (eb@rsm.nl) to stop your postponement of active degree granting.
More information on postponement of active degree granting can be found here: https://www.rsm.nl/master/current-students/master/postponement-of-issuing-your-degree/
More information on deregistration and diploma can be found here: https://www.rsm.nl/master/current-students/master/deregistration-and-diploma/
After your MSc diploma has been issued, you can deregister as a student through Studielink and ask for the refund of your tuition fee for the remaining months. This can be done at the following link: https://www.eur.nl/english/essc/registration/unenrolment/refundoftuitionfees/.
The application process starts on the 1st of October. Our application deadlines are strict and no exceptions will be made. The deadlines are:

15 May
NON-EEA nationality? Avoid delays in the immigration process and submit your application by 1 April.
Want to pursue a scholarship offered by RSM? Apply by the 1st of March (mainly for NON-EEA nationalities).
If the programme is marked with *, APPLY AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE:
These programmes usually reach the maximum capacity before the 15 May deadline. Check the date when the application closed for this programme last year. This might help you time your application. Please note that the dates are listed only for indicative purposes and no rights may be derived from this information.
Many of our applicants ask why we require certified hard copies or originals of their diploma(s) and academic transcripts when we already have digital copies. RSM requires official hard copies because digital documents are easier to forge and are not legal documents.
An official interview is only part of the application process for the MSc International Management - CEMS programme and the Finance & Investments - Advanced programme. An interview is not part of the admissions process for our other programmes.
For additional information regarding the selection process for the MSc International Management/CEMS programme, please check the website for the Selection Guidelines.

The exam certificate (minimum grade of 7.0 for VWO Mathematics A or a minimum grade of 6.0 for VWO Mathematics B) must be submitted in the Online Application Form (OLAF) no later than 1 April so plan your exam date carefully. In many countries official academic transcripts contain a GPA (Grade Point Average) - one calculated per semester, and one calculated over the entire study programme. In some cases a GPA will only be calculated once the programme has been completed. If your transcript does not contain a GPA, the admissions office will calculate one for you. Please note that the Admissions Manager will ultimately determine whether your GPA is sufficient or not. Grades earned on exchange can be included in the GPA calculation if they are translated to the Dutch grading system by your university (only applicable for students coming from Dutch research or applied sciences universities).
The easiest way to calculate your GPA yourself is to use Excel. You can use the example below to make the calculation. In column A you should enter the grades you have earned so far. In column B you need to enter the credits earned for each course. When you have entered all of the grades and credits, you need to put the following formulas into the spreadsheet:
In cell B5 =SUM(B1:B4); In column C =SUM(A1*B1), =SUM(A2*B2) etc; In cell C5 =SUM(C1:C4)/B5 This last answer is your GPA.
A | B | C | |
Grade | Credits | Total | |
1 | 7 | 6 | 42 |
2 | 7 | 6 | 42 |
3 | 8 | 5 | 40 |
4 | 5 | 5 | 25 |
5 | 22 | 6,77272 |
The MSc International Management/CEMS programme is the only selective master programme, meaning that only the best candidates will be selected for admission. Meeting the minimum admissions criteria does not guarantee a place in this programme.
For all other MSc programmes a rolling admissions process is in place. When you meet the minimum admission requirements, followed the admissions process and adheared to the deadlines, you will be admitted. Please note that for some programmes there is a maximum capacity, meaning that the programme might fill up before the regular application deadline.
If you will not obtain your degree before the application deadline because you will graduate later in the year, your GPA will be calculated based on the results included on your transcript at the time of application.
Once the required literature has been determined orders can be placed via the StudyStore (textbooks and readers) to ensure that students receive their materials on time before the start of the trimester. It is advisable to include the required literature in the Undergraduate Catalogue text but if this information is known at a later date that we kindly ask that you inform programme management so that they can update the information in the online course catalogue.
Questions about ordering readers and the accompanying copyright regulations can be addressed to the StudyStore. Please also refer to the section entitled 'Copyright' of this online manual.
Textbooks and readers should be ordered well before the start of the trimester in accordance with any deadlines StudyStore, and publishers themselves may require. The contact information for the StudyStore can be found under the section entitled Who, What, Where.
As far as the cost of required literature, readers, and other learning tools for a specific course is concerned, the general rule to follow is that the price of the required literature should not exceed € 14,- per ECTS. The maximum price that students for a 4 ECTS course can be expected to pay, for example, is € 56,-.
Copyright also plays a role when creating, publishing, and reusing an article, paper, textbook or research materials. Many questions arise when dealing with this topic: When do the copyright rules apply, and what does this mean for an author or a user of publications? The Copyright information desk provides a lot of useful information to teaching staff members and researchers. The information center is available in the form of a website and a digital environment. More information can be found via https://www.eur.nl/ub/english/informationpoint_copyright/
Programme Management is responsible for the organisation and coordination of the programmes offered at RSM. They provide internal information and manage the information flow to students. Programme Management is the point of contact for students and professors within RSM. They will do their best to ensure that all courses run smoothly.
